The Forum Rules

This is a list of the rules which you must follow in order to Role Play here with us at Generation X. If you fail to follow these rules then there shall be warnings given, but if continued it could result in a suspension from the site - and then finally a ban from the site all together. So please make sure you read over them and understand them fully.

This thread may also change over the course of the site's activity so please make sure you check back here for any rule updates.

Role Play

On the site you must post in the proper English. This means you cannot use text that you would normally use if you were chatting to friends on say MSN or any other messenger. Everything must be in proper English as it will add to the Role Playing experience.

Also while in Role Play, you must use the " & " buttons when in speech. This indicates the character is saying something. This is the proper use in Role Play of how to get your character to speak - so any other versions you may use are not allowed.

Out Of Character is when you want to say something which is by yourself and not by your own character. These are only to be used when they need to, and not to be used in every post. If you want to use it then you must use this format: [OOC: text ]. The text part is the part which you can say something. But note this rule does not apply in OOC Boards, were you can speak as normal without having to use OOC.

Another problem with most RP boards is the length at which the posts are permitted. The rule on this site is that your post must be over 4 lines. Anything else under this will be considered as SPAM and the thread will be locked and you will get a warning.

Also, when your posting in character, please make sure you abide by all of the Power Rules which you will find below. This will ensure we do not have a site which is all full of powerful players who can do everything in the world. After all - we all have our weaknesses.

Powers & Characters

Your powers are a gift, which everyone has gained from the X Gene. I will not accept that they have been passed out to you but you are not a mutant - that would make you some supernatural being. Here, everyone is a mutant with the X Gene which is passed on through the male gene's.

Your powers are fairly complex things, however great or little. There are some guidelines you need to abide by when using those powers so please make sure you understand them all.

You must make sure the powers you are using are the ones which you have asked for. You cannot suddenly develop powers right after you get your first set, or one. If you want to have them develop then you need to ask permission from Storm and also, only ask if you have been on the site for a good amount of time. Powers do not just evolve after 3 weeks, or even a month.
Even with your powers, you do have weaknesses, like Storm has with her claustrophobia. Some weaknesses are greater then others and may even effect your powers
Also, you are not superhuman, even though you maybe considered so. You cannot dodge ever attack. When you are Role Playing and fighting or using your powers then you must make sure not to just dodge every attack as it will result in a bored other Role Player. Remember that you will often get beat up and lose from time to time.

Remember that when you create your characters that you must stick with them. You cannot suddenly have an urge for ice cream when you are allergic to all dairy products, and this goes for more bigger things as well - like personality. And remember you cannot Role Play with your character unless they have been accepted.

General Rules

These are some rules which you should follow and make sure you follow them since they are very important.

All players on the site must be of age 13 and up. This is not the character age but of your real age as there maybe some content IE Fighting which is not suitable for those under the given age.

Your character must have a first and a last name which must be displayed on your Profile as the Display Name.

Content which is not allowed on the site are as follows: Sexual content of any type (however character kissing is allowed), Excessive swearing is not allowed at all and Suicide or Suicide attempts. If you want your character dead then we can arrange for someone to do so in a Role Play format which is suitable.

This site is strict on God-Modding in the sense that it is not allowed. You control your character and your character only and know one else's.

If you do not follow the rules on the three sections I have mentioned then the following actions will be taken: First Warning, Second Warning, Suspension (temporary ban), Ban.

Please keep the rules in mind when Role Playing around the site and I hope you have an enjoyable time here at Generation X
