Make no mistake, there are things that go bump in the night...and we are the ones who bump back.

Cleo was hungry. Actually, come to think of it, she was usually hungry. Today more so than others however, and she was in the mood for pizza. There just so happened to be a pizza place in the mall near where she had been hiding out lately. It was pathetic, really; she had been using some kid's tree house for shelter, out of all places. She had been watching the manager of the pizza place for fifteen minutes now, and had already copied his DNA. She knew he would head out on break soon, and that was whens he would strike. A grin lit the young, green eyed girl's face as she saw the manager leaving, heading to a coffee shop further into the mall. Still watching him walk away, she stood and stepped behind a vending machine where she was less likely to be seen, then she began to change. Her dusty brown hair turned a light red, and seemed to suck back into her scalp, shortening until it was about above her ears. She could feel her much more slender form bulking out into that of an adult male's; of course, she couldn't copy the flab, since that wasn't part of the DNA, but thankfully, she didn't look to different; and unfortunately, she wasn't wearing men's clothing. She had thought of this however, having done it millions of times before, and she had some baggy male clothing in her bag, consisting of jeans and a baggy plaid t-shirt. Perfect. Cleo strode out from behind the vending machine and made a bee-line straight for the pizza place. She was met by a nervous employee. "Wow, Mr.G, you've lost weight," stuttered the man, cracking a watery smile. Cleo felt bad for the man; while watching the manager, she had discovered that he was quite abusive toward his staff. So she simply nodded to the man and slipped behind the counter, grunting out, "'M testin' the food." The man didn't try to stop her as she took two slices of pizza, and a soda and left again. She didn't change back until she was in the parking lot. There, she gave a satisfied smile and strode off to a bench in front of the mall to enjoy her pizza. Suckers; they'd never be any the wiser, and she got all the free food she wanted.
